We are constantly looking
for volunteers to help us in our goal to eliminate substandard housing.
On Site Building:
We work at the construction site Wednesday through Saturday from 8:30 until
3:30. No construction experience is necessary, just bring a great attitude.
Groups and individuals are welcome. If you would like to get involved call the Volunteer
Coordinator at 336.887.8388, Ext. 27 to schedule your work day. Ask about
special groups like the Wednesday Warriors, and Women Build!
For rain date information, dial 336.887.8388, Ext. 28 for a recorded message
stating whether we will be working that day or not.

Bargain Store:
The Habitat Bargain Store can also use volunteers from Tuesday through Saturday.
Volunteers at the Bargain Store help move merchandise, run the cash register,
and drive the truck to pick up donated goods. In addition, you get a store
discount!
Administrative Offices and Other Opportunities:
If you enjoy working with computers, fundraising, event planning, etc. we may
have a place for you! We have several committees that plan and coordinate
Habitat operations. What are your skills? Come and join us!
Age Regulations:
Anyone under 18 is considered to be a youth volunteer. Our
worksite policy is that youth aged 16-17 will be allowed on site
provided they work no more that 4 feet off of the ground, and that they
do not use power tools. (examples: landscaping, cleanup,
painting)
Youth under age 16 are not
allowed onsite when power tools of any kind are in use. However,
we try to involve young people in building support functions when
possible. This could include preparing lunches or snacks for
Saturday groups, or making a housewarming basket for a homeowner.
Call us to inquire about other youth opportunities! |

This waiver will be kept on file at the Habitat for Humanity office,
and is good until the end of the calendar year.

use. Be sure to mark items with your initials or name.
-
Closed toe
shoes. No sandals will be allowed on site.
-
Old clothes,
preferably long pants.
-

-
Sunscreen
Bad Weather:
The group leader should call 887-8388 Ext. 28 the morning of the
activity to make sure we will be working that day. This is especially
important if the weather is bad or questionable. This number can be
given to each member of the group if needed.
Group Leader:
Please note the following:
-
If you plan to provide lunch for your group, let us know. This will
help us to plan activity for the day. Typically, if a group does
not take a lunch break, we plan for the day to end around 12:00 –
1:00 pm. If lunch is provided for your group, then we usually
schedule to work until around 3:00 pm, or until everyone is too
tired to continue, whichever comes first.
-
We realize that things may change at the last minute. Please
contact either the Construction Supervisor or the Volunteer
Coordinator to let us know of any changes. Emergency contact
numbers will be provided when you reserve your day.
